Great job! I had this on my to-do list but I'm not sure what is needed besides copyedits. --Dhartung | Talk 09:24, 1 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Thank you very much! I've read the cautions against putting anything up here if I don't want it edited endlessly, but I know a lot about the place. Marykeiran 23:02, 1 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Tan-y-deri

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Tan-y-deri. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Tan-y-Deri. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Tan-y-Deri – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Auric talk 01:48, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wright's writings

[edit]

Noticed your edit at the Unity Temple page and read your user page, and wanted to mention that Wright's own books don't have pages as yet on Wikipedia (so those are opportunities to share Wright's writings if you or someone else wants to work up a page or three). The Wasmuth Portfolio does have a page. Thanks for your work on an important person and subject. Randy Kryn (talk) 17:22, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hollyhock House, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Montecito (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 12:42, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:William G. Fricke House, from its old location at User:Marykeiran/William G. Fricke House. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. KylieTastic (talk) 17:47, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You have been here long enough that you are allowed to create new articles without going thorough the Articles for Creation process (you are FAR over the minimum 10 edits and 4 days). It's up to you if you feel comfortable enough to take that step since there are people who will quickly want to delete an unsourced article. Or you can always ask for help. If you do feel comfortable, I would suggest either starting in Draft space or do the user subpages like you have been. Notability should be easy for you since everything that Frank Lloyd Wright has done has been discussed & dissected a great amount by scholars (meaning MANY reliable sources should be readily available). And as one of the elite architects, he should have name recognition by most Wikipedians. Once you have an article ready to publish, then make the move. I hope these comments are helpful. You can ask my anytime on my talkpage. Royalbroil 02:14, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I've just proposed merging Sharp Family Tourism and Education Center into Child of the Sun; it's a house built to Frank Lloyd Wright's original design about a decade ago. It occurred to me, though, that the keepers of FLW's pages might prefer posthumous buildings to be kept separate from those built during his lifetime. Since you've been active on FLW pages, I wanted to ping you for input. Brian Hamilton (talk) 08:07, 12 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for thinking of this, and for contacting me.
I agree that posthumous Wright buildings should be kept separate, even when they follow Wright's original design. That follows the layout in the "List of Frank Lloyd Wright works" page. Marykeiran (talk) 18:41, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Got it! I'll rework things with that in mind. Brian Hamilton (talk) 20:02, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Songs entering the public domain

[edit]

Hello: I noticed that you added "Its musical composition entered the public domain on January 1, 2023" to the lead of several song articles, but did not include a reference. Is there a reliable source for these additions? —Ojorojo (talk) 17:26, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, great idea! Thanks for checking that and I'll do so. I got them from "Public Domain Day" published out of Duke.

Thanks for the links. Duke's commentary is well-researched and its statistics about the commercial benefits of extending copyright terms are very interesting. —Ojorojo (talk) 15:06, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
